Say what you want, but this album has the makings of a future cult classic. Of course, SAILORR’s star has risen immensely with the release of this project, taking her from lowkey Floridian with a dream to a budidng hitmaker in a genre that can never have too many artists. However, there’s reason to believe that this project hasn’t even touched the tip of the iceberg of its potential. Something about it feels like we’ll be hearing a lot of these songs publically more and more as we get further into the year.

This might seem like a praise that HSL gives out a lot, but SAILORR truly does have an extremely beautiful voice. It’s very polished and rarely, if ever, shows any missteps. Every flow she does, every note she sings, her cadence... it always sounds just right. To come out swinging like this on a debut album, from both a vocal perspective as well as a cohesive and sonically pleasing standpoint, is a very tall task — one that SAILORR handled expertly.

Her approach to melodies, song structure, and subject matter is immediately reminiscent of artists like SZA and Doja Cat. Now, while that may be a valid comparison, let’s be clear that they are not the same, nor is SAILORR doing an immitation of anybody. There’s something strikingly unique abou her music that continuously draws you in, but it’s hard to put a finger on exactly what it is. Whatever it is, it’s highly intoxicating. If this is her introduction to the world, her future is more than bright — it’s blinding.
