It’s been a minute! And by a minute, I mean literally almost year exactly lol. My bad yall! I’ve listened to a lot of projects since the last time I’ve posted on here, even ones that I felt more than worthy to post about, but the truth is I haven’t had the energy to post about any of them until now. And even still, I don’t feel that I’ve given this project enough time / listens to have an authentic review, but alas, here we are. I listened to this for the 1st time last night, so I’m sure my favorite tracks will evolve, but this is where I’m at with it right now.

ASTN is somebody who I first found on TikTok some years ago. I had featured one of his early EP’s (“IT’S NOT THAT SERIOUS” — 2021) on this page some time ago and honestly had forgotten about him for a little bit. I was listening to an old playlist of mine and a song from that EP came on, which prompted me to see what he’s been up to. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find heat from the up & coming singer/songwriter since then. I feel like big things are coming from him & we’ll undoubtedly see his star rise in the coming years. I feel & hear a lot of growth in this project since the last time I listened to him. Sometimes he reminds me of Bazzi (which.. let me go check up on him).

He glides through R&B so effortlessly. I like his sound a lot & his unique approach to song structure. A lot of these songs feel like they would be global hits on a bigger artist’s project, which is why I feel his songwriting star is rising to something special. But let me be clear — NONE of this is a slight to his potential to become a global star in his own right. I’m moreso speaking to his underground element at this point in his career. Once more ears tune into him, I see an “overnight success” twinkle in his future.
